As members would be aware, this is a strategic discussion of utmost importance for our industry and one that paves the way for the future sustainable finance rules in the UK. We were grateful for the significant input received from members over the festive period and are looking forward to continue to work with members and the authorities, most notably through our active participation on the FCA’s Disclosures & Labels Advisory Group.
In line with our commitment to an evidence-based approach to policy development, our response was informed by an initial round of consumer research completed on our behalf by the Wisdom Council during the consultation period.
This has allowed us to identify some potential challenges with the FCA proposals as currently framed, and the results are outlined in the appendix to the IA response. We plan to explore the issues further with more in-depth consumer research in the first part of this year, which will facilitate our input to the next stage of the FCA process.
