The IA in collaboration with #talkaboutblack have developed a Senior Black Professionals Mentoring & Reserve Mentoring Programme to support the progression of Black leaders with the network, mindsets and tools needed to achieve their professional goals. Following a successful pilot with 16 mentors and 16 mentees, we are launching a new programme in October during Black History Month.
Acknowledging the barriers to advancement that Black professionals face, this mentoring programme, through nurturing Black professional leaders, will aid in establishing a pipeline for underrepresented talent to the C-Suite. Through a 12-month programme, mentors and mentees will meet regularly to connect and discuss ways to successfully navigate the investment management industry. The participants will exchange ideas on strategies and career development that will aid both the mentors and mentees to build a more inclusive industry going forward.
Acting on feedback from the pilot programme, we will be including facilitation sessions for both the mentors and the mentees to learn from each other and pilot participants.
