Meet some of the new Investment20/20 trainees who joined us in September 2023

Welcome to our new trainees!

The autumn sees a new cohort of Investment20/20 trainees begin their career in investment management. It’s an exciting time for the trainees but also for us, having met them initially during onboarding.

Onboarding our new trainees and apprentices

During Investment20/20 onboarding, new trainees and apprentices participate in a virtual welcome session and meet others who are also starting their investment management careers. They receive virtual introductory materials to further their understanding and to prepare for the start of their experience, helping to build confidence and familiarity.

Over the next few weeks, they will come along to our Industry Insight events and trainee development sessions, enhancing their understanding and knowledge of the industry, meeting other trainees, and building their professional network.

We asked a few trainees to tell us what they are looking forward to as they begin their trainee programme.

_{I decided to pursue an apprenticeship as I thrive off practical and theory work, and I was keen to gain hands-on experience whilst building invaluable skills. I’m excited to be part of the investment sector and explore different areas of Fidelity and develop my understanding of how the sector operates. I’m also excited to build networks internally and externally and work alongside people with different professional and life experiences.}

_{The wealth of knowledge and great characters led me to pursue a career in investment management, and ultimately CCLA Investment Management. Being within a Product team that regularly liaise with the various departments across the business will give opportunities to meet and learn from experts in their fields. To further this internal network, being a part of the Investment20/20 programme allows for great networking opportunities among new starters in the same boat as me.}

_{I was always interested by the dynamic nature of financial markets, the future of investing and Liontrust's unique investment approach. I'm eagerly awaiting the hands-on experiences with Investment20/20 and Liontrust and the opportunity to network with seasoned professionals. I'm also excited to learning more about the industry including understanding asset allocation strategies and grasping how global events influence investment choices.}

Peace, Matthew, Alyssah and other trainees and apprentices have joined on the Investment20/20 trainee programme starting this autumn with the Campus to Corporate sessions, an Introduction to Investment Management, and the popular Industry Insight events taking place in both London and Edinburgh, where they hear from alumni and key industry figures.

Three times each year we host our Industry Insight events, where our trainees convene and hear from experienced professionals about their own career, key topics and industry priorities. Industry Insights are an opportunity for trainees to gain experience networking and build their confidence and understanding.
