Meet 3 young professionals starting their careers on the Kickstart Programme
Sarah Biria, Analyst Trainee (in Treasury and Investment Office)
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a particular impact on young people seeking work. The Jobcentre Plus recommended that I attend the mentoring circles hosted by Investment20/20 and M&G, allowing me to gain greater insight into their organisation and learn more about their recruitment process. I am excited to start my Kickstart Scheme at M&G. I believe that their Trade and Investment Office rotation provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure in the various areas of their business. Following the scheme, I look forward to continuing my career with M&G and gain relevant qualifications, such as the CFA.
Emine Budak, Analyst Trainee (in Treasury and Investment Office)
Due to highly competitive graduate applications, looking for employment during a pandemic was challenging. I took part in the Movement to Work programme which made me aware of the Kickstart opportunities. Attending the mentoring circles provided me with insight into the organisation and was extremely useful in allowing me to determine the career path I wanted to pursue and whether M&G was a good fit for me. I look forward to starting my placement at M&G and hopefully securing a full-time position in the end.
Alan Mihic, Trustee Client Trainee
I graduated last July and have been looking for a job since. Having attended an awareness event in January where I found out about the Kickstart scheme, I then joined the mentoring circles that M&G and Investment20/20 provided and applied for one of the Trainee roles. The Kickstart Scheme has thrown me a life-line to help me break into the world of work. I am grateful for the opportunity and am excited to start my role with the business.
