Reconnecting with students and new career starters at live, in-person events has been a highlight for both our team and members. Having worked in the City for many years, I have learned the value of making face to face connections with people. It allows us to connect in a way that isn’t possible from a distance, building emotional attachment and meaningful relationships with industry peers, as well as growth opportunities at both a personal and professional level. Our team has been busy making these connections possible through our trainee professional development programme bringing together new starters from across the industry. In addition to this, industry professionals are connecting with tomorrow’s workforce and inspiring future career aspirations through our 150 careers outreach sessions since the start of this year.
From the success of our Investment Management Kickstart Gateway, our industry’s relationship with the Department for Work and Pensions continues to grow supporting career outcomes for young people at Job Centre Plus. We are delighted to be signatories to Scottish Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee and members too are encouraged to sign up through their engagement with Investment20/20.
Businesses that embrace inclusion by having accessible entry jobs for people as they look to start their careers, will naturally become more diverse. As our industry actively strives to build a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to talent from all backgrounds, focussing on inclusive accessible entry jobs remains a priority and we are delighted at the volume of entry trainee jobs from our members.
