The Investment20/20 strategy drives change and enables the industry to be more inclusive by addressing three important areas:
Attraction infrastructure: This is about changing the attraction and outreach infrastructure that drives diversity of talent into the industry. The desire to recruit from a diverse slate is not enough nor is it about selling a job. It’s about working with communities of people to build trust, relevance and a tangible career destination.
Culture: Meaningful change happens when every hiring manager buys into the value of diverse and inclusive recruitment. Looking for ‘cultural add’ rather than ‘cultural fit’ and hiring for potential by challenging assumptions about the knowledge, skills and experiences required for roles. These changes enable a wider and more diverse pool of talent into the industry.
Future Skills needs: By focusing on future skills needs early in people’s careers, it addresses future potential shortages. Key industry themes of sustainable and responsible investing and data are embedded within both our trainee professional development programme as young people start their careers, and within our student outreach events.
